About Me
I live in the wee foothills of Appalachia with a hairy hoard of critters, the cats of which quietly plot the downfall of the rest of us. I'm fortunate enough to be surrounded by my incredible family and we all menace each other with glorious abandon.
I've been writing since I was four when I wrote quite the stirring romance between a pig and a tree and then proceeded to staple all the pages together in the wrong order. I consider it my first foray into speculative fiction. Though I was a big reader when I was little, reading fell by the wayside for me until I came across Heather Graham Pozzessere's, The Last Cavalier in junior high. My world exploded. I had no idea romance could be combined with time travel. I was raised on stories of ghosts and monsters and am still fascinated by anything the least bit out of the norm. So to discover paranormal romance was mind blowing and wonderfully captivating. Especially in a time period where the geeks had not yet inherited the earth. And then the medieval romance. *happy sigh* My inner history geek melted the first time I read Julie Garwood's, The Bride.
I loved these books because I could sink my soul into another place. Places where honor meant something. Where the strange could be explored. And when I was going through low points, I could read about modern heroines who were going through the same thing and suddenly I wasn't alone and I wasn't broken and there was nothing wrong with me for feeling the way I did.
Stories mean something. They pull us together. They take us by the hand and let us forget where we are and what we are struggling with for just a moment. They give us strength. They entertain. Make us laugh. Make us cry. They help us look at the world in a way we hadn't thought of. My great hope is that the stories I share with you take you away for just a little while and you have as much fun reading them as I am writing.
Stay groovy, lovies!
